Pentire Steps

The golden sands of Pentire Steps sit at the northern corner of Bedruthan Steps and offers solitude from its popular big brother. Backed by imposing cliffs and littered with towering sea stacks, Pentire Steps is one of the most photogenic beaches on the north coast. Overlooking the beach is Diggory’s Island, a grass-topped island exhibiting an impressive natural arch that provides a doorway through to the rest of the bay.

Follow the B3276 north of Mawgan Porth passing both of the main car parks for neighbouring Bedruthan. Look out for the small left hand turn and follow the track until you reach a grassy National Trust car park next to Pentire Farm. Follow the footpath to the coast, turning left at the signpost and traverse the narrow headland track 100m down to the sand. The final drop onto the beach will require a minor scramble.
