Dollar Cove

At the end of the impressive Loe Bar and around the headland of Halzephron lies Dollar cove on Lizard Peninsula. The cove is named after the great wreck in 1780 when 2 tonnes of silver coins were lost overboard. At high tide the beach is generally comprised of stones but a marvellous sandy bay is revealed as the tide drops, broken up by a scattering of contorted granite outcrops. Uncrowded waves can be had at low tide, with fun sandbars forming all the way across the bay.

Drive down past the farm and park in the large National Trust carpark, then a short stroll onto the beach.
