Jutting out into the English Channel lies the Isle of Portland – the central part to the Jurassic coast and Dorset’s most southerly point. Although Portland is more famous for its limestone quarries, it still harbors a couple of secret beaches that are well worth a visit. Strong tidal currents and deep water can make swimming conditions dangerous so know your limits.
